Virtumonde (also called Vundo) is another Trojan. This threat is from such viruses (Trojan) that will advertise malware. Virtumonde will be downloaded from one of various sources and will install itself in your user’s directory. During the whole process, it will make changes to your System Registry. Once established, Virtumonde installs a Browser Helper Object which redirects the user’s web browser the websites of fake malware applications. Virtumonde will also promote many fake malware via browser’s pop-ups. Your desktop background can also be changed with a warning saying that your computer system is heavily infected with spyware. The warning will then tell you to go to some websites and to download some anti-spyware: it turns it is but some fake software.
Your screensaver will be replaced by the terrible “Windows Blue Screen” once this trojan has infected your PC. The user will then get a block of text telling your computer is heavily infected with viruses, and that you should immediately download and install the previous (fake) application as written before. This threat (Virtumonde) is a kind of spyware. You should threat this malware as such and should protect yourself against it at all times by using ways to delete it from your PC as soon as it is detected.
