I know I don’t have a problem with collecting too much stuff and I am certainly not a hoarder, but are three vinyl storage sheds too much? I guess that’s a tough question to answer, it’s like asking how long a piece of string is. Ok, maybe that is not a good comparison, but you get my point. Figuring out how many storage sheds that you need should be based on the number of things that you need to put in storage.
What I’ve done is, in my first shed it contains our yard tools, lawn mower, etc. The next one contains our backyard furniture and related tables etc. that are stored in the winter and the third shed is for misc things like camping equipment, sports equipment, emergency food storage, etc.
The reason that I even asked this question was that many of you try to throw too much into one storage shed and then what happens is that you lose all of the benefits of having a storage shed. Either they cannot get everything in and some of their stuff has to be put in places you originally wanted to get rid of that stuff in the first place, e.g., the garage. Or you can fit everything in, but it’s so cramped you can’t get to anything in the back without having to take everything out and worse it gets totally disorganized when you put back the things that need to go back in.
The best idea is to either split your storage sheds up into several smaller sheds like I did, or get a storage shed that is quite a bit bigger than you need so that you have room for both growth of stuff that you’ll accumulate over time and second you need the extra room to get to those things in the back of the shed. Related to that is having enough room to find what you want when you want it and being able to put it back in an organized fashion when you’re done. Good luck in your planning and take the time to do it right.
